"Pawn endings are to chess
what putting is to golf."
-- Purdy
I rested today, and that does more for my rating than solving 100 tactical puzzles. My CTS score lept, and I drew a strong player as Black. I even managed to hold a rook and pawn endgame! :)
Win: Kokotti(1689) - likesforests(1485)

23...a6 was better, saving my a-pawn. Also, 29...Ba5 was better than Ra5 to avoid White pinning my bishop. I got a little lucky.

a. hello like! nice job man!
b. 84.66% at 1500 and 20,000 in two days, not far off of my plan made months ago. since i was shooting for 85.0% at 25k, i am well ahead on percentage, and running 90 to 92% per session.
c. post at chessChat.org on "topalov-kramnik, twelve games too soft a measure?" your opinion much appreciated!
d. i was SOOOO tired the last two days, so totally concur on that rest stuff. rest, holly rest! i had to scrape and claw to get back +1500, and fell to 1476 in yesterdays utter exhaustion of mind... but at least accurate while i did it!
e. i am back to CT-Art3.0, and if the past is any prelude, aught to get ten to twenty elo at CTS by this alternate--but richly variant and parallel--focus.
warmly, david
