Ron Henley's "Intro to Pawn Endgames I"

Ron Henley is a grandmaster who's assembled nineteen positions from studies and actual games to teach pawn endings. I'm not sure his notes are enough to work as an introduction, but they certainly work well as a review.

A quick index to the positions:

8.1 - A practical grandmaster example (1)
8.2 - A practical grandmaster example (2)
8.3 - A king with dual aims (1)
8.4 - A king with dual aims (2)
8.5 - The "common square" (1)
8.6 - The "common square" (2)
8.7 - Pawn races (1)
8.8 - Pawn races (2)
8.9 - Pawn races (3)
8.10 - Elbowing out (1)
8.11 - Elbowing out (2)
8.12 - Elbowing out (3)
8.13 - Promotion games (1)
8.14 - Promotion games (2)
8.15 - Promotion games (3)
8.16 - Promotion games (4)
8.17 - Square of the Pawn (1)
8.18 - A practical grandmaster example (3)
8.19 - A practical grandmaster example (4)

Lessons Learned:
  1. Pawn vs Pawn can transform into Queen & Pawn vs Queen & Pawn (8.2)
  2. Pawn races are very tricky (8.7, 8.10, 8.12, 8.15)
  3. Even Grigoriev goofed?! (8.14)

I'm off to study pawn races--apparently it's still one of my weaknesses.
