I suppose I've been remiss in keeping this blog up-to-date.
- In about two months, my son will be born.
- Today is my birthday.

I love endings and helping others learn to play. I placed 5th in my section at the World Open, won a recent U1600 with a perfect score, and aim to one day be a chess master. :)

Happy Birthday!
(I blame the time zones that I am a little late)
Thanks amigo. You are right on time... I only posted an hour ago. :)
Double congratulations! Happy birthday!
Happy birthday and congrats.
The big question is will you teach you child chess?
Will
Happy Birthday! Best wishes as you draw closer and closer to fatherhood. Better teach him chess, otherwise you may not get to play again. :-)
Happy birthday, and hearty congratulations for your new "tax deduction."
Happy birthday!
So likesforest 2 is coming soon. Will it be an upgrade of likesforest? :-)
Banatt, thanks. :)

Up to him. If he takes an interest I'll encourage him. But that goes for anything else he enjoys, too!
"otherwise you may not get to play again"
Haha. After my first little one I got *much* better at time management. I hope after an initial "adjustment" phase I'll be playing as usual.
Ray, thanks. :)

Congratulations and happy birthday! I would like to extend an inviation to you although you may be taking a break from tournaments. It will be taking place at the new and most technologically advanced chess club in the country: The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis.
The championship features the top 12 American players by rating, the 2008 U.S. Junior Closed Champion, the 2008 U.S. Open Champion and the 2009 U.S. State Champion of Champions….not to mention over $200,000 in cash prizes.
Competitors include Gata Kamsky, Nakamura Hikaru, Onischuk Alexander, Yuri Shulman, Larry Christiansen, Akobian Varuzhan and Gregory Kaidanov.
If you can't attend, the Chess Club will be offering daily coverage of the championship through blogs, Tweeds, nightly video recaps (Macauley Peterson of ICC’s Chess.Fm will be administering), game analysis and streamed PGN coverage.
it appears likesforests quit chess.
Thanks for all the well-wishes. :)
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. Now is the time to focus on preparing for the birth of my second child. Soon I will have time to write more about chess.
Did the secretary of the knights still celebrating the birth of his second child or is he already cured of the hangover of the party? :-)
Hehe! He'll be born any day now. :)
