Games, 8/17/06

Last night I read Predator at the Chessboard sections 2.1.7 - 2.1.9: knight forks. I also did 90 CTS tactical problems.

I pushed my queenside pawns and scored a pawn fork. Then I got too fancy--a 5 move combo scoring a rook for two knights. I pushed my kingside pawns and scored another pawn fork.

I missed a mate-in-two, but scored easily. I need to play stronger opponents. After knight forks, I will probably re-study mates.

It was close until my opponent hung his bishop--I must play stronger opponents. I played 16.Nxd4 two turns too late, and missed 19...Ne4, but my doubled rooks attack and checkmate showed finesse! :)
